I started out wanting to draw a classic still life:
A nicely set table, a calm, quiet moment.
But while sketching, the scene shifted to a table after the meal, with everything that was left behind.
Still, something was missing: the people.
When I draw, the first idea often takes on a life of its own, and the final image ends up looking quite different from what I had in mind.
With the two figures at the table, it’s not exactly a traditional still life anymore.
But it’s still pretty still.
